National Day Festivities and celebrations of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the throne are starting to take place all around the Kingdom. Khaleejesque gives you the insider scoop on what’s happening on the island in celebration of this glorious holiday.
 
Celebrations will include various shows, performances, and activities that include free hot air balloon rides, a walkathon, and many more recreational endeavors.
 
Free hot air balloon rides will be offered to people over the next 2 days at the Heritage Village near the Bahrain National Museum in Manama. A UAE Balloon team was flown from Dubai for this happy occasion and will give participants a chance to get a bird eye’s view of breathtaking Bahrain. Rides are scheduled from 3pm to 10pm, so if you’ve always wanted to fly, we suggest you haul yourself over there for this one of a kind chance.
 
There will also be a traditional bazaar at the Heritage Village that will feature local arts and crafts as well as various food stalls. This event is scheduled to run over the next two days.

Fireworks Show scheduled to mark this momentous day will take part today at Al-Estiqlal Walkway in Isa Town. The display will start from 5pm and is scheduled to be a 10-minute show. Simultaneously, there will be an event there that will include distribution of Bahraini flags and memorabilia to visitors, as well as recreational games for kids that will include performances by clowns, traditional dances and contests. This event will run till 11:30 pm.
A music show is scheduled to be held tonight at 9pm at the Bahrain National Stadium in Isa Town.
 
The event will also feature a traditional bazaar featuring local arts and crafts as well as various food stalls

Under the patronage of the Crown Prince’s son Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, a festival is due to be held at Arad Fort at 3:30 pm. It will include fireworks, traditional music and other cultural activities.

An Operetta will also be held tomorrow and Thursday under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad Al-Khalifa which will include various leading Arab singers and musicians. This event will take place at the Bahrain National Stadium, Isa Town.

A festival will also be held by the Social and Development Ministry at the Al Estiqlal Walkway on Friday and Saturday. The event, under the patronage of Minister Dr Fatima Al Balooshi, is being organised in co-operation with other ministries and civil societies. The festival will feature a products exhibition by social centers, food stalls, children and youth activities, and cultural competitions for children, traditional musical band and games among other attractions. It will also include a marathon race for school and university students, the disabled and people with special needs. The festival would be held under the theme 'Love and loyalty for the country and the leader'. It will be open to the public free of charge from 10am to 10pm on both days.

A National Day run, walkathon and bicycle race will be held on Saturday at the car park near Bahrain Airport Services' Aircraft Training Centre. It is being held under the patronage of Deputy Premier and Civil Aviation Affairs Minister Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa from 7.30am to 11am.

Al Hilal Hospital, in Muharraq, is offering a free consultation camp for the public today, from 9am to noon and 4.30pm to 9.30pm.
