As an Emirati Heba AlSamt had a vision, and that vision was to create a community that brings together all Emiratis to share, engage, speak up, gather and exchange thoughts. A community Emiratis can call their own; a place where they can have their voice heard out loud. AlSamt tells us that we Emiratis are, smart, ambitious, creative, innovative, risk-takers, intelligent and imaginative people; and now it is time to show this to the world and prove who vilify us, wrong. As Emiratis we have a lot of things to be proud of, a lot of stories and achievements to share with the world around us. AlSamt tells us let’s do it! Let’s speak up for our culture, country, traditions and reality. With all what's happening in United Arab Emirates, the developments and transformations, there are still cynical critics who attack us with their barbaric accusations that are filled with false facts. It's not in the Emirati nature to angrily reply or lash out at critics, but we still should not keep quiet and let the world distort, and belittle the Emirati image. It’s time for us Emiratis to speak up, change this false image about us. With this vision, Emiratweet was created. Emiratweet gives Emiratis the chance to speak out about themselves to the world and show what we are really all about. Emiratweet launched their first project on their website www.emiratweet.com titled “We Emiratis Are” This project is basically a way for Emiratis to express their patriotism and what they are really made of. An example from the website is Rima Bint Abdullah who wrote: “We Emirates are proud of our country and our government. We Emirates are champions. We Emirates are the change.” And with the National Day of the UAE coming up Emiratweet initiated a contest for Emiratis to take part in. All they have to do is put their talents into creating a creative piece for our country on its 38th National Day. Most importantly, the mission of this community is to be the voice and channel for Emiratis to reach out, expose and unveil their true selves to the world. |
