Khaleejesque is a thriving lifestyle and culture magazine that revolves around everything new, exciting and beautiful in the Arabian Gulf countries when it comes to the continuously evolving cultural scene.
The six countries that make up the GCC – Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar – share closely related culture, history, and values; as well as a similar future. Apart from a couple of blogs and local magazines that do cover this flourishing culture, no one has really attempted to focus on the Gulf.
We aim to do so.
Khaleejesque is essentially a reflection of the Gulf transformed into a bi-monthly print magazine. Our website is a one click portal that features everything there is to know about the Gulf. We, the Khaleejesque team, aim to cover the latest in regional happenings, feature interesting people and initiatives and share inspiring stories that are waiting to be told.
We cover a broad range of topics ranging from Fashion, Lifestyle, Culture, Travel, Entertainment, Art & Design, Technology to Personal Perspectives. Whether you’re a fashion enthusiast, an art aficionado, a design buff or simply want to learn about this colorful culture, there’s always going to be something for you.
What does “Khaleejesque” mean?
It describes the spirit of the Khaleej. A twist to the word Gulf in Arabic “Khaleej” and a play on words with the suffix “esque”; we’re the Gulf answer to Arabesque, but instead we are Khaleejesque.
They still didn’t link us with a railway system and a Gulf-specific currency seems to be pending ever since we can remember, but one thing’s for sure, Khaleejesque will keep locals and curious international readers all connected and in the know. God bless the Internet.
Noufa Al-Sabah, Editor-in-Chief & Co-Founder
A Business major with a knack for words as opposed to numbers, Noufa – Finance and Management Graduate from the American University of Kuwait – found herself slowly swaying into the world of Mass Communication. A once avid blogger (a passion that acted as a stepping stone to the path of founding Khaleejesque) with an eclectic perspective on life, Noufa lusts over the idea of just quitting everything and becoming a travel writer (perhaps just traveling not so much writing). Ask her to describe her self, and you are bound to get the following answer, “I’m all over the place!” (noufa -at- khaleejesque.com)
