When a Blue Whale Lands in the Middle of a Forest in Argentina

“… and the rest, after a sudden wet thud, was silence.”

We usually find whales in the sea, but outside the woods of Ushuaia, Argentina, lies an enormous whale. A magnificent sculpture by 31-year-old artist Adrián Villar Rojas titled “My Family Dead.”

This life-size blue whale deep in the woods was created in 2009. The artist used wood, rocks, and clay to create this monstrous creature. We wonder if the whale was left to be reclaimed by the earth?
