At a first glance Fashlink seems like an ordinary online shopping website, instead, it is the first social window shopping platform in the Middle East. Fashlink is a unique website that offers more than 3,500 individual items that include accessories, bags, shoes and apparel. The aim of the website is to allow users the chance to window shop online from the comfort of their homes. Not only does the website provide a shopping experience but it also creates an online community where people can share their looks and opinions towards a certain item or brand.
Fashlink is partnered with more than 70 brands from high street to local boutiques which include Top Shop, New Look, Miss Selfridge and H&M. Users are also able to upload pictures of themselves wearing different outfits while others can comment and share their personal opinions with. Founder Payal Patel explains more about about the shopping experience, “being the first social window shopping platform in the Middle East will help local retailers and boutiques harness the power of social media in the real life shopping arena. We find that shoppers still lack confidence in fashion e-commerce, and we are hoping that FashLink will provide an excellent stepping stone for active e-commerce for the regions fashion brands.”
